Digitalization is changing the automotive industry which makes the transportation more connected, intelligent, efficient, reliable, and sustainable.
Cars can already park themselves or automatically maintain the right distance. Soon there will be other highly automated functions. Moreover, digitalization can contribute to climate protection: One-fifth of traffic jams in Germany could be avoided through efficient networking. That alone could save 233 million liters of fuel and up to 60,000 tons of CO₂. The Intelligent Connected Vehicle (ICV) concept represents the commanding heights of prospective automotive product shape and technology, which will pose significant impacts on the value-chain of future automotive industry.
VDA China are intensively involved in these topics internally with members and externally with governments, authorities, and Chinese partners. Together, we report development of megatrends and take actions by establishing working groups, projects, and organizing regular workshops with Chinese partners, to ensure information transparency, fair competitive relations, international harmonization of standards and technical neutrality.
